The inscription was found by Klementz in 1891 at the river Baryk, a tributary of the Big Yenisei. The stone was transported to the National Museum of the Republic Tyva by Batmanov in 1961. It measures 150 x 50 x 25 centimetres.

Translation

  1. [I am] Külüg Čor, son of Bay Ičä Saŋun.
  2. I grew up without grief. The grief was [the following]:
  3. I did not get fully satiated with the sun in the sky and my people on the earth.
  4. I departed from my consort in the secluded place and from my son in the valley.

Comments

  1. The initial segment <kẄ> is hardly visible. The reading is plausible not only in terms of content, but also on paleographic grounds.
